Great Basin Rattlesnake

Great Basin Rattlesnake - It seems that the rattlesnakes are out in abundance this spring. Out of four snakes we had spotted on our morning drive, this was the third rattlesnake that we had seen.

Snake Prevention 101
1. Most bites result from deliberate harassment so try and avoid disturbing, removing, holding, playing, or posing with snakes.

  • 2. Wear high sturdy boots not flipflops or thongs.
  • 3. Be alert and aware of your surroundings.

Deschutes Salmon Fly

"The salmonly hatch is an amazing hatch to fish. the bugs are 2 1/2" long and orange in color...when they are hatching they look like small birds, and the trout gobble them up with no regard to their own safety..." Isaac ~ Oregon

Cutthroat Caught on Damsel Nymphs at Pyramid Lake

Wayne B caught this nice 23 inch cut on a #10 marabou damsel nymph this May.

Wayne states that... "for the past few months the cutthroat have been fighting much harder than usual which means that the fly fishing from shore should still be good for the next couple of weeks."

~ Thanks Wayne
