Skunked at Pyramid Lake this Weekend

"A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work"...that's how we like to rationalize and interpret a day of fishing out at Pyramid Lake when neither of us catch anything.

Although, I will say that I had one on but lost it and we must of had three or four that followed the lure in, but no takers. Maybe our offering wasn't attractive enough or our line didn't have enough swivel in it?

After beating ourselves up for getting so badly skunked, we decided to pack our things and head on home. Just when we began driving up the dirt road we noticed what seemed to be a ton of chukar running around on the side hill of the Lake. There must have been 50-60 chukar running in the dirt road right in front of us...they would all stop and turn to look at us walking behind them...and then run around in confusion.

We ended up following them for about 15 minutes until they decided they didn't want to play anymore and flew up above us. What a cool experience.

Of course, this would never happen if you where actually able to hunt chukar at Pyramid. Oh well! It still made for a great day.
